Computers= Speed

I have found that I have become the 'tech support' generation. Being born in the presence of computers must have had some kind of effect on our brain cells. My generation can understand computers, their logic system, video games and programming, but some of my friends merely 20 years older than me can not. Here is the Dictionary.com definition for computer:

Also called processor. an electronic device designed to accept data, perform prescribed mathematical and logical operations at high speed, and display the results of these operations.

Speed. What exactly is it. Being fast literally, or metaphorically. I have noticed that after using a moderately fast computer for a few days, I expect the clock to tick faster, the radio anchor to stop garbling his sentences (sorry Carl) and my colleagues to do what I would like. The philosophy has truly changed the way we live. Speed metaphorically; getting ahead of the pack of other people, defining yourself. Lets say you are playing the popular game "World of Warcraft." You are level 60 (the highest level) and you are the leader of the most popular guild in the game. By joining this fictitious world, we get an ego booster. Essentially, we are ahead of the game (please excuse my pun)
